The Long
Island Housing Partnership held their 8th Annual Chairman’s Symposium
at the Crest Hollow Country Club.
Dr. Pearl Kamer, chief economist, Long Island Association presented a report:
Multifamily Housing on Long Island: Its Impact on Numbers of School-Age Children & School
District Finances.
Suffolk
County Executive Steve Levy and Nassau County Executive Tom Suozzi also
spoke about the impact of multi-family housing on the school
districts. Dr. Calvin O. Butts, III, president, SUNY Old Westbury was keynote
speaker. The Long Island Housing Partnership was also presented with a $50,000
Grant from Citi.
