Hofstra University held their
Distinguished Lecture Series Breakfast
presented by the Scott Skodnek Business Development Center. The keynote speaker
was Carolyn McCarthy. She delivered “A Report From Washington”at
the Hofstra
University Club.
Recently named chairwoman
of the Subcommittee on Healthy Families and Communities, Congresswoman
McCarthy will be instrumental in reauthorizing and drafting legislation
to protect Long Island’s children and improve the
4th Congressional District. She serves as a senior member of the Committee on Education
and Labor, as well as the House Committee on Financial Services. In these roles,
Congresswoman McCarthy works to provide local schools with the resources they
need to educate children and make college more affordable, and oversees the
way our financial system operates while protecting the identity of Long Islanders.
