Barcelona,
in the Cantalonian region of northeast Spain, is a
beautiful seaside city of art, historic landmarks and
great tradition. With its narrow winding streets and the
famous Ramblas, people gather to walk about on lovely
summer evenings, or stop to eat or drink in sidewalk
cafes and countless charming restaurants. Many of us who
attended the Summit took at least an extra day or two to
enjoy the rich heritage and hospitality offered to
visitors by this extraordinary city and the lovely people
who are fortunate enough to live there.
One
of the great advantages of attending an annual event like
the Global Summit of Women 2002 is the opportunity to see
familiar faces as many women return to the Summit year
after year fostering lasting friendships around the
globe.
